I wish I knew the history behind these delicious cookie bars but I couldn’t find it anywhere….if you happen to know please share!   Anyway, this Belgian Christmas cookie bar is a very popular Christmas treat in Belgium and once they start cooking in the oven your house will smell heavenly – it truly smells like Christmas. Our kids couldn’t get enough of these delicious Pommes Frites when we lived in Europe.  There’s just something about them that tastes so crispy and yet so soft, whatever country we were visiting. They especially liked them when we walked around the Christmas Markets on cold winter evenings.
