Cheesy Chicken Pierogi Bake

This Polish dish is actually a family favorite, it's on our once a month dinner plans!  It's so filling and full of flavor and I love how easy it is to put together. Delicious and one happy family!

Ingredients

4 sli
crispy bacon (Cook the bacon until crispy and chop it up.)
2 T
unsalted butter
1⁄4 c
flour
1 1⁄2 c
Chicken Broth
1 1⁄2 c
half and half
1 t
garlic powder
1 t
onion powder
1 t
Italian seasoning
1 pn
cayenne pepper
1⁄2 t
black pepper
8 oz
Italian cheese blend
5 oz
shredded Parmesan cheese
8 oz
pre-cooked chicken (diced)
2 c
frozen peas
16 oz
frozen cheese pierogies
1 T
fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

1. Layer pierogies in baking dish
2. In a saucepan melt butter, whisk flour in and cook for 3 minutes
3. Add chicken broth, half & half, garlic, onion, Italian seasoning, cayenne and pepper. Whisk until blended
4. Mix in Italian cheese and half of Parmesan cheese
5. Add frozen peas, and cooked chicken and bring to a boil
6. Pour mixture over pierogies. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top
7. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden brown
8. Top with bacon and parsley while still hot
