Potato Gratin

Potato Gratin or Pommes Dauphinois is a popular potato dish in France especially on cold winter days. This dish is served a lot in the French Alps at ski resorts, I mean, who doesn't like a warm dish of cheese and potatoes after skiing all day? This recipe was given to me from a close friend of mine, who I've known for almost 20 years and her mother-in-law is French, how lucky am I? Guess where I get a lot of my French recipes from?
